We are seeking two secondees at the Senior or Principal level to join us for 6 to 12 months. These roles are based in central Wellington.

About the Ministry for Regulation

The Ministry for Regulation is a small government agency with a big job to do.

We’re focused on lifting quality across all regulatory systems and supporting agencies with regulatory responsibilities to align with good practice. We want it to be easier for businesses to innovate, grow and comply, while still ensuring the benefits from regulation that we take for granted won’t change.

We are a small group of dedicated professionals, working in a 'can do' environment.

About the Role

Both of these roles sit within our Reviews and System Capability business group. As part of our Regulatory Reviews team, you’ll contribute to large sector reviews or respond to issues raised through the Red Tape Tipline. You’ll work at pace to deliver high-quality advice and solutions across a wide range of regulatory matters.

About you

We’re looking for someone who:

• Brings policy expertise from at least two different agencies, preferably from at least one of the large regulatory or economic agencies

• Communicates clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing

• Applies structured policy frameworks with confidence

• Thrives in a fast-paced environment and delivers high-quality outputs

• Is hands-on and willing to roll up their sleeves.

Salary range: dependent on skills and experience

$110,289 – $122,075 - $146,490 (Senior Advisor)
$129,685 - $143,628 - $172,352 (Principal Advisor)
