About the role

We’re seeking a Principal Advisor to join our People and Operations team for six months. The People and Operations team is responsible for human resources, facilities, administration and personnel/physical security.

The Ministry is just over two years old and we’ve recently launched our first People Strategy – it’s an exciting time to join us. We have a number of projects we need support with progressing and we’re seeking someone to complement the team’s existing skillset so we can keep moving forward.

About you

You’ll be an experienced HR professional who ideally brings expertise in at least two of the following areas:

• Organisational Development

• Learning and Development

• Employment Relations

• Health, Safety and Wellbeing

• People Analytics and Insights

In addition, we’re seeking someone who:

• Has a continuous improvement mindset

• Is comfortable using modern tools such as M365 and Copilot

• Has the ability to quickly build strong working relationships

• Is pragmatic, has good judgement and is able to work autonomously when needed

• Is willing to roll their sleeves up and help across a range of areas

• Is experienced coaching more junior team members
